Foot reflexology is based on the theory that all organs are mirrored in the soles of one’s feet. That is: Each organ is closely connected to a particular part of the sole of your foot, a reflex zone. This is how the soles of your feet are a mirror of your health. If an organ is sick, then applying pressure to the associated reflex zone will cause pain. The therapist can thus see by feeling your feet which part of the body is not in order.
Illnesses can also be positively influenced by foot reflexology. By massaging a certain foot zone, the corresponding organ is supplied better with blood and healing processes are supported. There are precise "foot maps", in which reflex zones and pressure points are listed.
